Learn how to complete the Espionage Assignment in Mass Effect: Legendary Edition. This guide covers all choices with Calis and Vargas for Paragon or Renegade points.

Alright, so you're heading to Noveria and need to wrap up the Espionage assignment. It all kicks off after you deal with Anoleis and head up to the hotel. As soon as you step out of the elevator, a guy named Calis is going to flag you down, needing help with something. How this whole thing plays out really depends on who you decide to side with.

Dealing with Calis

When Calis offers you the assignment, you've got a few options:

1. You can straight-up refuse to help. This gets you +8 Paragon points but no XP or Credits.
2. If you agree to help but then change your mind and tell Calis you quit, you'll get +2 Paragon and some XP, but no Credits. You can actually quit at any point for a few Paragon points, but it's usually not the most rewarding path.

Dealing with Vargas

If you don't just quit on Calis, you'll end up dealing with Vargas, and that's where things get more interesting:

1. Tell Vargas about Calis's plan. He'll appreciate it and give you some extra background info. Then, head back to Calis, and she'll be annoyed you interfered and try to bail. You'll get +2 Paragon and XP for this.
2. When you're talking to Vargas, keep him chatting by using your Charm or Intimidate dialogue options. Wait until the device he's got makes a noise. Then, excuse yourself and go back to Calis. She'll pay you in Credits (more if you used Charm/Intimidate) and you'll earn +2 Renegade points.
3. Tell Vargas about Calis's plan, then go back to Calis. This time, tell her you told Vargas, deciding neither corporation is worth your time. You'll get +2 Renegade and no Credits.
4. Tell Vargas about Calis's plan, then return to Calis. Instead of telling her the truth, lie to her, making her think you've completed your end of the deal. If you use Charm or Intimidate here, you'll get an even bigger reward: XP, Credits, and a hefty +9 Renegade points.
