Learn how to reclass characters, promote to advanced classes, and acquire powerful skills in Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright to create unique and potent units.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Characters in base classes (e.g., Ninja, Cavalier) learn skills at levels 1 and 10.
  2. 2
Upon reaching level 10 in a base class, characters can promote to a linked advanced class using a Master Seal. It is recommended to reach level 20 before promoting to maximize stat growth.
  3. 3
Advanced classes learn skills at levels 5 and 15.
  4. 4
Characters can reclass between advanced classes using various Seals (Heart Seal, Friendship Seal, Partner Seal) after graduating from their base class.
  5. 5
The Eternal Seal increases the level cap by 5 and can be used multiple times, costing 12,000 gold per Seal.
  6. 6
When leveling up for the first time in a new class after reclassing, the character learns the first skill of that class (if not already possessed). The second level-up in the new class grants the second skill. Leveling up four times in a new class can grant access to all four skills (two base, two advanced) if none were previously learned.
Tips
  • Reclassing allows characters to diversify their stats and skillsets by learning skills from different classes. For example, a character can learn Astra from Swordmaster and retain it in another class.
  • A maximum of six skills can be equipped at once. Five skills are customizable and learned from classes, while one is a character-exclusive skill that cannot be changed.
  • The skill placed at the bottom of the equipped skills list will be inherited by a child character if the unit is married and has a child paralogue available.
  • The Friendship Seal reclasses based on A+ rank supports. Unit 1 gains Unit 2's class, but Unit 2 does not gain Unit 1's class unless they also A+ rank each other.
  • The Avatar cannot A+ rank with anyone. The Friendship Seal for the Avatar is affected by characters of the same gender with whom an A-rank support is achieved, including child characters (unless the Avatar is their parent).
