The key is to use that long-range attack to take enemies out in one hit, so you don't have to worry about its lower Speed or its limited 4-tile attack range.

The Ballistician has some really cool skills that mostly mess with the "Cannon" command. You've got:

• Survey — Gives you a +10 Hit bonus when you use "Cannon." Handy for making sure those long shots land.
• Opportunity Shot — If you're a Ballistician, this gives you a chance (based on your Skill stat) to attack a nearby enemy at the start of your turn. Free damage is always good!
• Rifled Barrel — When using "Cannon," this increases its range by 1 but also reduces the inner and outer range by 1. Basically, it makes your long-range shots even longer.
• Surefooted — This is a fantastic skill! It gives you +1 movement and makes all terrain cost only 1 movement point to cross. It's like Takumi's Fujin Yumi!
