Walkthrough for Chapter 21: Burning Falls in Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright. Learn enemy strategies, Dragon Vein usage, and how to defeat the boss.
Walkthrough
- 1Begin by eliminating the Masters of Arms to the east, being cautious of the nearby Stoneborn. Luring the eastern Stoneborn is manageable, but the northern one is protected by lava and high ground. Alternatively, target the Hero to the west, lure it, and defeat it.
- 2If direct engagement is difficult, use the Dragon Veins. These come in pairs and can either open a path or flood an area with lava. The Dragon Vein under the hand holding an orb will create a bridge. Flooding areas with lava deals damage and hinders ground unit movement, requiring flying units for transport.
- 3After defeating the eastern units, activate the correct Dragon Vein and proceed north to face more enemies, including a Stoneborn. A Swordmaster here drops a Venge Katana.
- 4Activate another Dragon Vein to advance north. Here, you'll find another Stoneborn surrounded by other units, including a Sniper and an Adventurer. Protect your flying units and lure ranged enemies by exploiting their attack ranges. You can obtain a Sun Festal from one of these units.
- 5To the east, you'll encounter more enemies, including a Stoneborn and ranged units. Lure them out individually and defeat them. You will receive a Silver Yumi and a Master Seal.
- 6Activate the final Dragon Vein to create a bridge to the north. This area has a concentrated group of foes, including Stoneborn, Spear Masters, and the boss Stoneborn. Lure the Stoneborn away, and be prepared to pull back and draw enemies out if necessary, even if it means taking a hit or two.
- 7The boss is joined by a lesser Stoneborn and another Spear Master. Be aware that the boss will spawn a Lava strip across the top of the map after attacking.
Tips
- Bring a diverse selection of units to counter the variety of promoted enemies and weapon types.
- Consider bringing plenty of flying units, as the map is large and enemies are spread out, but be mindful of archers.
- Takumi is recommended due to his weapon bypassing terrain difficulties.
- Enemies, especially Stoneborn, have higher Attack and HP than those in previous chapters, with fewer defensive weaknesses.
- Stoneborn have an attack range of up to five squares, making them long-distance threats. They have a low Hit rate, so a high Defense/Avoid character can be used as bait.
- Always have healers ready.
- When using Dragon Veins, choose the one that creates a bridge to avoid being hindered by lava.
- When engaging the final group of enemies and the boss, don't hesitate to retreat and lure enemies out one by one.
