The Fiend Lords Keep

Alright, so you've made it to the Fiend Lords Keep, and now it's time to face off against Brynhildr, an Eidolon! Don't worry, this fight isn't about defeating her in the traditional sense. Instead, your goal is to fill up her Gestalt bar. Think of it like a super-meter you need to charge up!

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Level / HP: LV - / - HP
• Strength / Magic: 116 STR / 128 MAG
• Stagger / Chain Res. / CP: None / 70 Chain Resistance / 0 CP
• Vulnerabilities: Fire (Absorb) / Ice (Weak)
• Common Drop / Rare Drop: None / None

Phases:

1. Phase 1: Charging the Gestalt Bar
   Brynhildr will inflict Doom on Sazh right at the start, so keep that in mind. Your main objective here is to fill her Gestalt gauge. Keep the same party setups you used in the previous battle. Have Sazh cast Haste, Shell, and Protect on both characters. Meanwhile, Vanille should be focused on applying Deprotect, Deshell, and Imperil to Brynhildr. The Summon's attacks will chain together nicely, dealing around 300-400 damage, and she also has Area of Effect attacks. Keep attacking her with various elements, but remember she absorbs Fire, so avoid that! Ice is your best bet here since it's her weakness. The Drive gauge will increase the most as you attack the summon with various elements. If you find yourself needing to heal, don't hesitate to use Potions or set up specific healing abilities. With your ATB set to slow, you'll have plenty of time to acquire Brynhildr with [Square/X] once the Gestalt gauge is full.

Strategy:

• Focus on buffing your party (Haste, Protect, Shell) and debuffing Brynhildr (Deprotect, Deshell, Imperil) to maximize your damage output and survivability.
• Exploit her weakness to Ice.
• Avoid using Fire attacks, as she absorbs them.
• Keep an eye on the Gestalt gauge and your ATB. When the gauge is full, be ready to press [Square/X] to acquire Brynhildr.
• If you need healing, use Potions or pre-set healing abilities.

• After this battle, you'll obtain the Brynhildr Eidolith Key item.
• Sazh’s ATB will increase by one segment, giving him a total of 4 segments.
• At the start of the next chapter, you'll unlock the Trophy/Achievement Instrument of Wrath.
