Mission 12: Geiseric, the Profane

Alright, let's tackle Mission 12: Geiseric, the Profane. This guy is a bit of a tough cookie, but nothing we can't handle together. Geiseric is one of those fearsome Cie'th that just refuse to go down, driven by a deep hatred for anything alive. He's leading a bunch of other Cie'th out on the Archylte Steppe, and our job is to put an end to it.

Location:

You'll find the Cie'th stone for this mission in the Archylte Steppe, specifically in the Western Benchland area. To get there, head out of the canyon you're in and follow the wall to your left. Keep going until you reach the next indented area. You'll see the mission marker on your map well before you arrive.

As you're heading towards the marker, keep an eye out for a Treasure Sphere along the cliff face. It's got 5 Librascopes inside, so don't miss it! Once you reach the area with the marker, a cutscene will play, and Geiseric will spawn. You'll notice the Cie'th stone is glowing red, and there's a red barrier blocking your path. You absolutely have to defeat Geiseric to get past this barrier.

• Additional Foes: None
• Weaknesses: Highly susceptible to elemental magic. Physical attacks are ineffective. Ruin spell damage is halved.

Phases:

1. Phase 1: The Approach
   As you enter the area, the mission marker will trigger a cutscene, and Geiseric will appear. You'll also notice the red barrier. Remember, you can't proceed until he's defeated.
2. Phase 2: The Battle
   Engage Geiseric. Focus your attacks on his elemental weaknesses. Standard Commando skills like physical strikes won't do much damage, and even Ruin is only half as effective. Your best bet is to use your magic-based attacks.
3. Phase 3: Victory
   Once Geiseric is defeated, the red barrier will disappear, allowing you to proceed.

Strategy:

• Before you even start, it's a good idea to have some Shrouds cast. This fight can be a bit more challenging than others, so a little buffing goes a long way.
• When the fight begins, remember that Geiseric is resistant to physical attacks. Your Commandos won't be very effective here, and even the Ruin spell only does half damage.
• Instead, focus on your elemental magic. Geiseric is weak to almost every element you can throw at him. So, get your Ravagers in there and unleash spells like Fira, Blizzara, or Thundara.
• Don't forget to switch paradigms if needed. If you're struggling to deal damage, try shifting to a paradigm with more Ravagers to maximize your elemental spell output.
• Keep an eye on your party's health and use healing abilities as necessary.
• Once Geiseric is down, the red barrier will drop, and you'll be able to continue.
