Track down the missing lifeguard Shane in Dead Island 2! Follow our walkthrough to find clues, battle zombies, and uncover Shane's escape route on Venice Beach and beyond.

To kick off the 'Missing: Shane' side quest in Dead Island 2, you'll first need to wrap up the 'Coast Guardian' mission. Once that's done, swing by the Sterling Hotel on Ocean Avenue and check the missing person's board. Grab the quest, and you'll be heading back to Venice Beach to find a lifeguard named Shane.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Head to the Blue Crab and make your way to the lifeguard station located down from the gym where you found Moose. You'll find a bunch of zombies hanging around, so clear them out. Then, use the crate on the side to hop up onto the station and shut off the generator. Inside, you'll find a note that points you toward the next lifeguard station, which is directly across the beach.
  2. 2
This next station is also swarming with zombies. Your objective here is to find and take down Nell. She'll have a note on her that details Shane's next move.
  3. 3
The note from Nell will send you to the Lifeguard Headquarters in Santa Monica. The quickest way to get there is by fast traveling using the Blue Crab. Once you arrive, hop down and head to the back of the station, towards the beach. If you haven't already taken out Dante, it's a good idea to do so now to make things easier.
  4. 4
Here, you'll encounter an Inferno Crusher named TJ. You'll need to defeat him. Be quick and try to avoid any fires he throws your way.
  5. 5
After you defeat TJ, he'll drop a note revealing that Shane escaped on a boat. With that, the 'Missing: Shane' quest will be complete.
