How to Get Good Weapons in Dead Island 2

Discover how to acquire better weapons in Dead Island 2. Progress the story, level up, and find uncommon and rare weapons from crates and merchants.

In Dead Island 2, your initial weapons will be common (white) improvised items like burnt timbers and pool cues, which are not very durable. As you progress through the main story and level up, you will find better weapons. The fourth main quest, [Bel-Air Brawl], introduces weapon crafting and rewards you with an uncommon (green) machete. Subsequent quests like [Call the Cavalry] and [Room Service for Major Booker] will yield more uncommon weapons, and potentially rare (blue) weapons towards the end of the latter. By the time these appear, you'll likely be level 6-8. These upgraded weapons are significantly more effective and durable than common ones.

Quality weapons are often found in crates, boxes, and other containers, especially those behind [Fuse Boxes]. Some containers respawn, making regular checks worthwhile. Apex zombies are also more likely to drop better weapons. Additionally, you can purchase weapons from merchants or receive them as quest rewards.
