Explore Cinnabar Island in Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee! Find the Poke Mart, Pokemon Center, Cinnabar Lab, and learn about Alolan Pokemon trades and reviving fossils.

Alright, so you've made it to Cinnabar Island! It's located way down southwest of the mainland. You might already know this place is home to the Fire-type Gym, but here's the catch: you can't just waltz in there. If you've been following along and picked up a Dark-type Pokémon to deal with Sabrina earlier, you might have popped by before. This time, though, we're going to really check out what this island has to offer.

As soon as you arrive from Route 20, head towards the south side of the island. You'll spot the Poké Mart on your right – perfect for stocking up on any supplies you might need. Right in the middle of everything is the Pokémon Center. After your travels, it's definitely a good idea to head inside and let your Pokémon have a well-deserved rest.

Alola Trade (7)

Inside the Pokémon Center, look for a Punk Guy chilling in the top-right corner. He's looking to trade! He'll give you his Alolan Grimer (in Let's Go Pikachu!) or Alolan Meowth (in Let's Go Eevee!) for a regular Grimer or Meowth. You can snag a Grimer over at the Pokémon Mansion on the island, and Meowth can be found on Route 24 and Route 25. These Alolan forms are super handy because they're Dark-types, and you won't find any Dark-types native to the Kanto region. They're fantastic against Psychic-types, not only hitting them for super-effective damage but also being completely immune to their psychic attacks. Just a heads-up, the Alolan Grimer also has the Poison typing.

Now, let's check out the Cinnabar Lab. It's just to the left of the Pokémon Center, and thankfully, it's open to visitors. Head inside and go down the eastern corridor. The first door on your left is the reception room, and the one after that is the research lab. Make your way to the scientist who's working at the computer up ahead.

After a bit of a chat, this scientist will hand over TM02 Taunt. This is a pretty neat move that forces your opponent to only use attacking moves. It's a great way to stop them from using status-inflicting moves or stat-boosting ones. Just remember to use it when you feel confident you can handle their attacks!

Keep going to the last room, the experimental lab. Over in the top-right corner, next to a Poké Ball machine, you'll find another scientist. This is the person who can bring your Pokémon fossils back to life!

Tip: Prehistoric Power

If you have the Helix Fossil, this scientist can revive it into Omanyte. The Dome Fossil will become Kabuto. Both of these Pokémon are Rock and Water-types. If you've got the Old Amber, it'll turn into Aerodactyl, which is a Rock and Flying-type. You can also find these fossils randomly in the Cerulean Cave after you've beaten the game, in addition to any you might get normally.

Once you've explored the lab enough, head back outside. You'll find the Pokémon Gym in the north-east part of the island. But, as you'll quickly find out, the door is locked tight. To get into the Gym, you'll need to visit the Pokémon Mansion, which is located in the north-west corner of the island. Before you head into the mansion, though, take a moment to go left and pick up the Antidote lying on the ground.
