Master the Fighting Dojo! Learn the best Pokémon types and strategies to overcome Black Belts Hitoshi, Aaron, Hideki, Mike, Karate Master Koichi, and Coach Trainer Leona.

Alright, so you've made it to the Fighting Dojo! This place is packed with trainers who love a good brawl, and you'll need to be ready for them. Don't worry, I'll walk you through who you'll face and how to take 'em down.

Black Belt Hitoshi

First up is Black Belt Hitoshi. He's got a Primeape at Level 31, which is a pure Fighting-type. Since Primeape only uses Normal and Fighting moves, your best bet is to use Ghost-type Pokémon. They're completely immune to all of its attacks, making this an easy win!

Black Belt Aaron

Next, you'll face Black Belt Aaron. He's rocking a Graveler at Level 31, which is a Rock/Ground-type. This guy hits hard with Rock and Ground moves, so you'll want to switch to something that resists those. Water or Grass-types are your best bet here to counter those STAB moves.

Black Belt Hideki

Keep pushing, and you'll meet Black Belt Hideki. He's got a Poliwhirl at Level 31, a Water-type that's on its way to becoming a Fighting-type. To deal with this one, lead with a Grass or Electric-type Pokémon. If you happened to pick up an Alolan Raichu from the Saffron City Pokémon Center, that's a fantastic choice!

Black Belt Mike

You're almost there! Black Belt Mike is next, and he's brought out another Fighting-type: a Machoke at Level 31. Just like Hitoshi's Primeape, this Machoke only knows Fighting-type moves. So, if you're looking for an easy time, Ghost-types are once again your go-to because they take no damage.

Karate Master Koichi

After you've dealt with all the Black Belts, the real challenge awaits: Karate Master Koichi! He's got a fully evolved Poliwrath at Level 34, which is a Water/Fighting-type. This means it's weak to a bunch of types: Grass, Electric, Flying, Psychic, and Fairy. Your partner Pikachu with Buzzy Buzz or your partner Eevee with Glitzy Glow would be amazing here, or any Pokémon you have with those advantageous types!

Coach Trainer Leona

Don't forget about Coach Trainer Leona! She's hiding in the bottom-right corner of the Fighting Dojo and offers a separate challenge. She's got a Machoke (Level 32, Fighting) and an Electabuzz (Level 33, Electric). Both of them love to use Thunder Punch, so keep your Flying and Water-types away. For the Machoke, a Psychic-type is ideal, and for the Electabuzz, a Ground-type will shut it down quickly. Beat her, and you'll score the TM23 Thunder Punch!
