Walkthrough
  1. 1

Weaknesses include Flying, Psychic, and Fairy for Machoke, and Water or Ground-types for Magmar. Reward: TM31 Fire Punch.
  2. 2
Continue west, hugging the top of the route or the ledge below.
  3. 3
Picnicker Yazmin: Battles with a Level 37 Grass-type Tangela and a Level 37 Water-type Seaking. Tangela uses Stun Spore and Mega Drain. Seaking uses Waterfall and Agility. Weaknesses for Tangela include Fire, Flying, Ice, Poison, and Bug. Weaknesses for Seaking include Grass or Electric-types.
  4. 4
    Past Yazmin, collect TM47 Surf.
  5. 5
Jump down the ledge to find the gatehouse to Fuchsia City to the left. Alternatively, return to the start of Route 15 and take the lower path west.
  6. 6
Near the start of the lower path, pick up 3 Ultra Balls below a long ledge.
  7. 7
Battle Punk Guy Ernest: Battles with a Level 38 Fighting-type Primeape and a Level 38 Poison-type Muk. Primeape uses U-Turn. Muk uses Toxic and Acid Armor. Psychic-types are recommended, with a focus on special attacks.
  8. 8
Battle Punk Guy Alex: Battles with a Level 38 Poison-type Arbok. Arbok uses Glare. Ground-types or Poison-types are effective.
  9. 9
Continue west past Alex. After the first patch of tall grass, find a Hyper Potion between the second patch of grass and a bush.
  10. 10
Beauty Lana: Battles with three Level 37 Fire-type Growlithe. Each Growlithe knows Heat Wave, Crunch, Outrage, and Play Rough. Water, Ground, or Rock-types are effective.
  11. 11
Further west, search the middle of the third patch of tall grass for a hidden Golden Nanab Berry.
  12. 12
Bird Keeper Edwin: Battles with a Level 39 Normal/Flying-type Dodrio. Dodrio uses Thrash, Drill Peck, and Jump Kick. Electric-types are recommended.
  13. 13
Past Edwin, reach the gatehouse to Fuchsia City.
  14. 14
Inside the gatehouse, go upstairs. If you have caught 50 Pokémon species, the assistant on the right will give you an Assistant Set.
  15. 15
Exit the gatehouse west to return to Route 15 and proceed to the next city.
Tips
  • When battling Coach Trainer Midge, Flying, Psychic, or Fairy-types are effective against her Machoke, while Water or Ground-types are good against her Magmar.
  • For Picnicker Yazmin, use Grass or Electric-types against her Seaking, and Fire, Flying, Ice, Poison, or Bug-types against her Tangela.
  • Against Punk Guy Ernest, Psychic-types are recommended, especially those with special attacks, to counter his Primeape and Muk.
  • Punk Guy Alex's Arbok can cause Paralysis with Glare, so use super-effective moves quickly. Ground-types or Poison-types are effective.
  • Beauty Lana's Growlithe are all Fire-type and weak to Water, Ground, or Rock-types.
  • Bird Keeper Edwin's Dodrio is weak to Electric-types.
  • TM47 Surf is a Water-type special move that hits all targets, useful in Double Battles but potentially hitting allies.
