Old Chateau (Encounters & Items)

Alright, let's head into the Old Chateau! It's a bit of a spooky place, but there are some useful items to grab and a couple of unique encounters if you're lucky. Don't worry, the ghosts here are more for show than anything else.

As you explore, keep an eye out for a couple of spectral sights. You might see the ghost of a butler in the dining hall, and sometimes a ghost girl can be spotted in the corridor on the second floor. They don't do anything, but they add to the creepy atmosphere!

Navigating the Old Chateau:

1. When you first enter the Old Chateau, head straight forward and go through the door located between the two staircases. This will lead you into the dining area.
2. From the dining area, make your way west towards the kitchen. In the kitchen, search the northernmost trash bin – you'll find a hidden Antidote!
3. Head back out of the kitchen and take the stairs on the left side of the building.
4. On the second floor, enter the door immediately to your left. Inside this small room, you'll find the Old Gateau sitting on the floor. Grab it!
5. Exit that room and head east, following the upper path. Look for the door situated above the main dining room door you entered earlier.
6. This door opens into a long corridor lined with several doors. Head all the way to the west end of this corridor and enter the very last door on the left. This room is sort of a storage area, and you'll find a Dread Plate waiting for you.
7. Now, if you've already obtained the National Pokédex and it's nighttime in your game, you can go into the next room on the right. Interact with the TV in there to encounter a rare Pokémon called Rotom!
8. Regardless of the Rotom encounter, continue to the very opposite end of the corridor. In the easternmost room, you'll find TM90 Substitute.

Pokémon Encounters:

• Gastly: You'll find Gastly pretty commonly throughout the Old Chateau. They have a 100% encounter rate in the ground areas.
• Rotom: This special encounter only happens if you have the National Pokédex and it's nighttime. If those conditions are met, you can find Rotom by interacting with the TV in a specific room on the second floor (as mentioned in the navigation steps). It also has a 100% encounter rate under these conditions.

Item Checklist:

• Old Gateau: Found on the 2nd floor, in the room west of the main entrance.
• Antidote (hidden): Found on the 1st floor, in the northernmost trash bin on the west side of the dining area.
• TM90 Substitute: Found on the 2nd floor, in the easternmost room of the long corridor.
• Dread Plate: Found on the 2nd floor, in the westernmost room of the long corridor.
• Secret Key: This is obtained after you catch Rotom, but it's not an item you find lying around.
