Navigate Route 228 in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Find hidden items like PP Up, Rare Candy, Protector, and learn about wild Pokémon encounters and the Move Tutor.
Walkthrough
- 1From the Route 226 gatehouse, head north-east. Battle or sneak past the Ace Trainer and find a hidden PP Up above him.
- 2Slide down the eastern slope to find a Protector at the bottom.
- 3Travel south to the top of a muddy slope. Search above it for a hidden Rare Candy.
- 4Optionally, battle trainers to the south-west before reaching tall grass.
- 5Slide down the slope where the Rare Candy was and head east, then up the next slope on your bicycle.
- 6From here, you can head north-east to fight a Dragon Tamer or head south along a narrow path. Collect the Iron on the right.
- 7Head west, then south along the side of a house. Inside this house, an old man teaches ultimate moves to fully evolved starter Pokémon.
- 8Go west from the house, climb stairs, and use Rock Smash on cracked rocks to find a Shed Shell.
- 9Return to the bottom of the stairs and proceed south. Past two trees and a pond, search a small rock for a hidden Ultra Ball.
- 10Head east, then south to encounter two Pokémon Rangers. You can skip them by using the narrow bridges beyond the Dragon Tamer.
- 11Past the Rangers, find TM37 Sandstorm in the bottom-left and a hidden Stardust in the top-left.
- 12Continue south along the east side, squeeze through a tight path, and ride up a slope on the left.
- 13Ride a narrow bridge east to find a Shiny Stone.
- 14Return to ground level and continue south. You will be ambushed by an Ace Trainer unless you entered from Route 229.
- 15After the Ace Trainer, ride up the slope to the left. North of the stairs are berry plants.
- 16In the south-corner of this tall grass section, search for a hidden Full Restore.
- 17Go up the stairs on the right and cross the narrow bridge.
- 18On the other side, search the wall near the bottom-right corner of a large rock for a hidden Calcium.
- 19To leave Route 228, slide back down the slope and head south towards Route 229.
Move Tutor: Ultimate Moves
In the northern half of the route, east of the main path, is a house. Inside, an old man teaches powerful moves to fully evolved starter Pokémon:

- Blast Burn (Fire-type, requires recharge): Charizard, Typhlosion, Blaziken, Infernape
- Hydro Cannon (Water-type, requires recharge): Blastoise, Feraligatr, Swampert, Empoleon
Tips
