So, you've got a Pokemon that knows a move you wish it didn't, or maybe you just want to teach it something new it learned earlier? No worries, there's a way to do that in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl! It involves a special NPC and a specific item.

Where is the Move Relearner?

The guy you're looking for, the Move Relearner, hangs out in Pastoria City. You'll find his house right by the sea. For the price of one Heart Scale, he'll teach your Pokemon any move it could have learned up to its current level, but only if it's in its current evolutionary form. This is super important – if a move was only learnable by an earlier evolution, you can't get it back this way. So, a Dustox can't relearn moves like Harden that it could've learned as a Cascoon.

Where to Find Heart Scales

Heart Scales are the key to relearning moves, and thankfully, there are a few ways to get your hands on them:

• Using the Dowsing Machine: You can find hidden Heart Scales on Route 212 (South) in the swampy area west of the honey tree, and also in the fenced-off section of Route 214. Your Pokétch's Dowsing Machine app is your best friend here to pinpoint their exact locations.
• Digging in the Grand Underground: While digging for treasures in the Grand Underground, keep an eye out for Heart Scales. They're small, take up 3 squares, and aren't super common, but if you're already digging for other items, they'll start to add up.
• From Luvdisc: Once you've got the National Pokédex, head to Route 224 or the Pokémon League and use a Super Rod to fish. There's a slim chance of encountering a Luvdisc, but if you do, there's a 50% chance it'll be holding a Heart Scale! You can either catch the Luvdisc or use a move like Thief or Covet to steal the Heart Scale.
