Using Prowler Mode

Understand that Prowler Mode has unique mechanics compared to hunter mode.

When you first faint, Acorns are consumed, giving you effectively nine lives before being sent back to base camp.

Upon consuming an acorn, your health will be partially restored, but your health cap, if extended by food skills, will remain. You will lose all food skills on your first official cart.

Familiarize yourself with the Support Move Gauge, which fills as you deal damage. This gauge is used to activate equipped Support Moves.

Note that some Support Moves are free to use, while others consume more gauge but are more effective. Support Moves are your primary items.

Learn the controls: X for basic melee attacks (chain of three), A for basic ranged boomerang attacks (chain of three, hold for charged), X+A for a melee spam attack in Furr-ious mode, R for a weak guard or to use a Support Move when the weapon is sheathed, R+Y to use a Support Move when the weapon is drawn, B for a forward-launching dodge with no invincibility frames, and R+B to burrow underground (B to resurface).

Alternate between X and A attacks for various combos. The last X attack launches you into the air, and the last A attack launches you forward slightly.

Support moves can be used when your weapon is out.

Activate Furr-ious Mode to increase attack power, though you will lose some control as your Prowler becomes aggressive and moves forward.

During Furr-ious Mode, the Furr-ious Flurry (X+A) is unlocked, dealing significant damage.
