4-star Quests

Ready for High Rank in Monster Hunter Generations? Learn about new challenges, armor, weapons, and materials as you tackle 4-star quests.

Alright, welcome to High Rank! This is where the real challenge begins in Monster Hunter Generations, and it's mostly found in the online quests. You'll notice a big jump in difficulty, but don't worry, it's totally manageable. High Rank monsters hit harder and can even have new moves up their sleeves. The materials they drop are also upgraded – think Scales+ instead of just Scales – which means you can craft brand new armor sets!

These High Rank armors boast much higher defense and are easily identified by an “S” at the end of their name. Plus, you'll get to fight Hyper Monsters, which are super-powered versions of regular monsters. Taking them down yields materials for the awesome “R” series armor and lets you upgrade your weapons even further. Keep an eye out for new High Rank-only gathering materials too, like Carbalite Ore, which you'll definitely need.

You'll also be exploring some new (or rather, returning from previous Monster Hunter games) locales like the Ancestral Steppe, Primeval Forest, and Frozen Seaway. They're bigger and tougher, just like the monsters within them. So, get ready to have some fun and embrace the increased challenge!
