Alright, let's talk about Malfestio! This Bird Wyvern is a bit of a trickster, really shaking up what you might expect from its class. It looks and moves more like a Flying Wyvern, and its wingspan is no joke – it uses them for smacks, stuns, and powerful charges.

Malfestio's main gimmick is its ability to mess with you. It can put you to sleep, which is annoying enough, but it also has this new status called Confusion. If you get hit by the bright orange powder its wings kick up, your controls get reversed! Seriously, right becomes left, left becomes right. If you get confused, the best bet is to run towards Malfestio to get away from it. You can also eat a Bitterbug to snap out of it instantly, or hope a Palico smacks you out (though that'll send you flying!). If you're patient, it'll wear off on its own.

When you're facing off against this guy, remember that Fire and Water elemental attacks are your best bet. It's weakest to those!

Here's a breakdown of its moves:

• Side Chomp: This one's pretty slow and clumsy, not much to worry about.
• Wing Smack: Malfestio swings its massive wings at you, twice in a row, turning around each time. Watch out, in rage mode, this attack can create that nasty orange confusion powder.
• Wobble Charge: It'll waddle forward with its little legs, swaying side to side. It's not the most direct charge, but still something to dodge.
• Flying Charge: Malfestio takes to the air and tries to slash you with its talons. This attack can also generate confusion powder when it's enraged.
• Dive Bomb: It flies up high and then dives down. A sphere of orange powder surrounds it on impact, and then it flaps its wings to blow that powder right at you!
• Hypnosis: This is the sleep move. Malfestio starts cooing, lifts its wings, and sends a light blue beam of sound. It'll rotate to sweep the area in front of it. Get caught in that beam, and you'll be snoozing!

You can break its Head, Wings (both), and Tail for rewards.

As for where you'll find it:

• Jurassic Frontier: It starts in Area 4, roams through Areas 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, and 9, and rests in Area 4.
• Deserted Island: You'll find it starting in Area 3, roaming Areas 2, 5, 7, and 8, and resting in Area 3.
• Primal Forest: It begins in Area 3, roams Areas 3, 4, 5, and 9, and rests in Area 8.
