Alright, let's talk about the Great Maccao! This Bird Wyvern is new to Monster Hunter Generations and you'll probably see it a lot, especially in the training quests. Don't let its common appearance fool you though; it's got some tricky moves!

Unlike some other monsters, the Great Maccao doesn't have any super complex gimmicks. Its main game is its powerful kicks and a really sturdy tail. Seriously, it uses its tail like a spring to leap around and cover huge distances. When it gets angry, it becomes super agile, so you'll need to be ready.

• Weakest to: Fire

Attacks:

• Forward Bite: It'll snap at you, but doesn't do this too often.
• Hipcheck: This is a quick, lunging attack where it turns its side to you and tries to knock you away. If it overexerts itself, it'll need a moment to recover, which is your chance!
• Tail Slam: Watch out for this one! It slams its heavy tail down twice, so be ready to dodge.
• Kick: It leans back on its tail to kick at you.
• Flying Kick: This is its signature move. It bounces on its tail a few times, then lunges forward with a kick that can cover a lot of ground, especially when it's enraged. If you can hit it while it's bouncing, you can make it fall over. Breaking its tail also makes this attack much easier to counter.
