Leave Karst’s house and travel northwest from Mother’s Cradle. At the second fork, turn east, then northeast at the next fork to find a Campfire near the “Northern Embrace Gate” where Rost is waiting.

Talk to Rost when ready. Exhaust dialogue options to discuss Aloy’s relationship with Rost and her future. Rost will mention the acquisition of the Tripcaster and rebuff Aloy’s questions about the upcoming adventure.

Aloy will decide to rest. Save at the nearby Campfire.

After resting, Rost and Aloy will pass through the gate. Continue forward and loot the remains of a Sawtooth for Metal Shards and Blaze. Harvest Ridge-Wood if available. Craft as many Fire Arrows as possible.

Leave the Embrace. You will encounter machine remains and dispatch a Watcher.

Continue down the trail, looting another Sawtooth at a fork. Head downhill to the north, northeast, harvesting a Watcher along the way.

At the bottom of the hill, turn north, northwest. Be wary of a patrolling Watcher. Dispatch it and continue, looting machines and plants.

Rost will point out a Sawtooth roaming the area. This is your final test, and Rost will leave you to face it alone.

Crouch and proceed to find a Supply Crate with resources, including Shock Wires.

Activate your Focus and scan the Sawtooth. It is weak to fire and has a Blaze Canister on its underside. Target the Blaze Canister first.

Equip the Tripcaster by holding [L1] and assigning it to a weapon slot. Aim at rocks across from your ledge (waist level) and fire the first line. Aim at the ground below and fire the second end to create a tripwire across the path. For safety, sneak south along the ledge and place another tripwire across the path.

Equip your Carja Hunter Bow with Fire Arrows. Ensure the Sawtooth is not nearby. Drop down to the east and take cover in tall grass near the fork.

Wait for the Sawtooth to complete its route and stop near you. Scan it, wait for it to stop, and aim at its Blaze Canister with a Fire Arrow.

After the Blaze Canister explodes, deal massive damage. Stop crouching and roll back south behind the first Tripcaster line. Avoid standing too close to the line due to the Sawtooth’s leap attacks.

Pelter the Sawtooth with Fire Arrows to lure it. When it trips the trap and is stunned, run up and attack it. Aim to finish it off before its stunned status (indicated by a blue circle with a white timer) wears off.

If the Sawtooth recovers, retreat behind the second Tripcaster line and repeat the process. The second stun should be enough to defeat it.

Loot the Sawtooth. Rost will approach and discuss the future. He will mention meeting near Mother’s Heart for the Proving.
