Stormbird

The Stormbird is a top-tier machine, comparable in difficulty to the Thunderjaw and Rockbreaker.

You can find Stormbirds near Daytower and the Greatrun Hunting Grounds.

Stormbirds can fly and spend much of their time airborne.

Prioritize removing the Stormbird's Lightning Gun, located on its chest.

The Lightning Gun has four attacks: launching small energy balls, launching a larger charged energy ball, creating an electric force-field on the ground to chase you, and a sweeping energy attack while airborne.

To remove the Lightning Gun, use Tearblast Arrows when the Stormbird lands or hovers.

After the Lightning Gun is removed, the Stormbird is less of a threat but still dangerous.

When the Stormbird flies high, it is preparing a divebomb attack, which can be dodged by staying on the move.

The divebomb attack can be disabled by destroying the six Engines on its wings (three per wing). The Tearblaster weapon is helpful for hitting these.

The Stormbird will land when performing the divebomb attack.

Other attacks include a wind gust from its wings (ground or air), a disorienting screech, a tail sweep attack on the ground, repeated beak stabs into the ground while chasing you, and a flurry of kicks.

To effectively ground the Stormbird, use the Ropecaster, especially the Shadow version.

Approximately four or five shots from the Ropecaster will tie down the Stormbird.

Once grounded, shoot the Blaze Canisters near its tail or the Freeze Canisters on its neck. Armor may need to be destroyed before these are accessible.
