Odd Grata

Follow this guide to complete the Odd Grata errand in Horizon Zero Dawn. Learn where to find Grata, hunt animals for meat, and recover her prayer beads.

Hey there! So, you've just gotten control of adult Aloy and Rost wants you to chat with someone named Grata. She's hanging out south of where you start. Just head straight south, keeping an eye out for any Machines that might be wandering around – Watchers can pop up unexpectedly. You'll know you're close when you see a path marked with two stones that say 'Mother's Heart'.

Follow that trail all the way to the top. You'll find Grata chatting with the All-Mother. Turns out, Grata needs some meat. Your job is to hunt down some animals and bring her back five pieces. Your Focus will be super helpful here, as most of the animals are pretty small and can be hard to spot. Boars are a bit easier to see, though. Don't worry about what kind of meat it is; Grata's not picky, any will do!

Once you've got the meat, Grata has another request: she needs you to find her prayer beads. They're located in a supply crate over on the eastern overlook. Head towards the overlook, and be ready to take down any Watchers patrolling the area at the base.

To get to the overlook, you'll need to cross a gap by hopping across some logs. Then, look for yellow markings on the cliffside – these show you where you can climb. If you've played games like Assassin's Creed or Uncharted, you'll feel right at home with the climbing mechanics. Once you reach the top, walk to the end of a log and hop on the zipline. The prayer beads are in a small box waiting for you. To get back down, use the big log to rappel to the bottom. After that, just head back to Grata to wrap things up.
