Follow our step-by-step guide to complete the 'Honor the Fallen' side quest in Horizon Zero Dawn. Help Namman reconcile with outlanders and earn valuable rewards.
Alright, let's tackle the 'Honor the Fallen' side quest. This one's a good way to get some extra XP and a nice reward box, plus it's pretty straightforward since most of the locations are near Meridian. We'll be visiting three spots to help out some folks who are having trouble with the locals and some pesky machines.
The Shrine of Kings
First up, we need to head to the Shrine of Kings. The easiest way to get there is to travel to the Campfire just north of the Meridian Gate. From there, hop on your mount and follow the road heading east. You'll go under an arch, and just past that, keep an eye out for an Oseram pilgrim named Brageld chilling near a bridge. He's the one who kicks things off.
Chat with Brageld, and he'll tell you his story. Apparently, there's a priest named Jahamin up north who's blocking his way. Go find Jahamin. He's a bit of a grump, lamenting the old days of strict rule and keeping outsiders down. Listen to his rants if you want, but eventually, Aloy will give him an ultimatum. No matter what you say, Jahamin will eventually back down, allowing Brageld and the other Oseram to visit the shrine. Talk to Brageld again to wrap up this part.
Sun's Climb
Next, we're heading east of Meridian to Sun's Climb. The quickest route is probably to fast travel to the Royal Maizelands marker and then cross the river to the east. If you remember finding a Campfire south of this area when you were looking for the Metal Flower - Mark III, you can use that and just head north.
Once you reach the southern end of Sun's Climb, use one of the ramps to get to the top. You might have climbed the northern side before, so try a different approach this time. At the summit, you'll need to take down three Glinthawks that have made a nest there. After you've dealt with them, find Kimik, the Banuk shaman, who's waiting at the top. He'll do his thing, painting on the rocks, and you'll have helped him find some peace.
The Lake Shrine
The last stop is the Lake Shrine, located southeast of Sun's Climb. Head down from Sun's Climb into the jungle and make your way southeast towards the lake. Your main task here is to clear out two Snapmaws that are lurking in the water, making it unsafe for anyone to visit the shrine.
Your usual tactics should work well here. Try using Fire Arrows and hit-and-run attacks to take them down. Once the Snapmaws are dealt with, wait for a woman named Rea to show up near the water. Talk to her, and you'll learn she's a bit… eccentric, but she's got access to the shrine now.
Returning to Meridian
With all three shrines cleared and their respective visitors appeased, it's time to head back to Meridian. You can fast travel to the Campfire situated between the open-air shrine and the elevators. From there, go up the stairs towards the open-air shrine and then cross the bridge to the southeast. You'll find Namman waiting in a temple there.
Chat with Namman. He'll talk about how his progressive ideas are starting to gain some traction with the other priests, even if they aren't fully on board yet. It's a small step, but it's progress! This conversation concludes the 'Honor the Fallen' quest.
