Guide to The Observatory in Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age — Definitive Edition. Learn how to start the 'Go Fygger' quest and obtain the Benevolessence.

Hey there! So, you've made your way to Tickington and are looking into The Observatory: Altar Of The Starry Skies. It's a pretty interesting spot, and you'll find a Tockle chilling in a small cave on your way to the central part of Laguna di Gondolia. You can't quite finish everything here the first time you visit, as some key items are locked behind progress in the next area, the Ruby Path of Doom.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
When you first arrive at the Observatory, chat with Aquila. He'll give you a quest called Go Fygger. He needs you to find a missing Fygg that's meant as an offering to the Yggdrasil tree.
  2. 2
Unfortunately, you won't be able to get the Fygg just yet because it's located in the next area, the Ruby Path of Doom. You'll have to come back later.
  3. 3
After you defeat the boss in that next area, you'll finally get the Fygg. Bring it back to Aquila at the Observatory.
  • Completing the quest nets you an item called the Benevolessence. This is a really handy item because using it in battle gives you the same buff as Magic Barrier, and it can even stack twice! It's a lifesaver against enemies who hit hard with magic later on.
Tips
  • Remember that you can't complete this quest on your first visit to the Observatory. You'll need to progress further into the story and reach the Ruby Path of Doom before you can retrieve the Fygg.
  • The Benevolessence is a fantastic buff to have, so make sure to keep it handy for tough magic-using enemies!
