Discover how to unlock all of the Hero's extra costumes in Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age — Definitive Edition, including Trodain, Fugitive, Drasilian, and more.

This guide details how to obtain various extra costumes for the Hero in Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age — Definitive Edition.

The Trodain

This costume, inspired by the hero of Dragon Quest VIII, is automatically obtained in the original version. In the Definitive Edition, you must claim it via 'Special Rewards' under Misc > Settings. For the Switch version, the 'Champion’s Pack' must be downloaded first. PS4, Xbox, and PC versions have these rewards included.

The original game included a recipe for the 'Artisanal Trodain Bandana/Togs', requiring Pep Pop and Kaleidocloth, items obtainable late-game. This upgrade is not available in the Definitive Edition.

The Fugitive

This costume is available during the main story but is later removed. Upon reaching Gallopolis, visit the church to find the Traveller’s Hood, which allows the costume to be worn again.

The Saviour of the Sands

To acquire this costume, you need the Gallopolitan Garb. Participate in the horse races in Gallopolis until the Silver Cup is unlocked. Win the Silver Cup on Easy mode to obtain the Gallopolitan Garb.

The Drasilian

This costume requires the Drasilian Helm and Drasilian Armour. The recipe 'Dress Like a Drasilian' is found in a chest in the Ruins of Dundrasil, south of a gravestone and past a fallen pillar. Crafting requires Platinum Ore (x3), Gold Ore (x3), Glass Frit (x2), and a Celestial Skein.

The Parade Participant

This costume is unlocked during a story event in the Champs Sauvage region, where you meet a party member.

Hotto Stuff

Exclusive to the Definitive Edition, this costume can be purchased in Hotto after completing the story events there. Buy the Wolf Dragon Armour from the armor shop for 15,000G.

Daddy’s Boy

During the final part of the game, complete story events in the Ruins of Dundrasil. Chests will spawn containing Irwin’s Helm and Irwin’s Armour, the pieces for this costume. In the Definitive Edition, this costume features a silver armor with a blue cape, differing from The Drasilian.

Cobblestone’s Finest

In the final part of the game, start a side story in Cobblestone that involves completing other side stories globally. After completion, return to Cobblestone and speak with Gemma. Search the wardrobe on the ground floor of your home to find the Cobblestone Clobber.

The Luminary of Legend

This costume requires two pieces: Erdwin’s Coronet (found on Level 3) and Erdwin’s Tunic (found on Level 1). Both are located in separate chests within the Citadel of Spite in the Luminary’s Trial.
