Menu Screens

Learn about Chrono Trigger's menu screens, including Character Status, Item, Tech, Configuration, Character Order, and Data Save options.

Pressing the X button during gameplay opens the main menu screen in Chrono Trigger. You can navigate the menu bar by pressing Left or Right on the directional buttons to select different options.

Menu Options:

• Character Status: This is the first option. Here, you can equip your active party members with new weapons, armor, or accessories.
• Item: View all the items you currently possess. Items listed in yellow text are usable immediately.
• Tech: This menu displays the Techs (special abilities) learned by each character in your group. You can also view learned Dual and Triple Techs that a character can perform.
• Configuration: Adjust various gameplay settings. These changes are reflected on your screen as you navigate the list.
• Character Order: Determine the formation of your 3-person party. The character at the top of the list becomes the leader and will walk in front of the group.
• Data Save: Save your current game progress across one of three available save files. You can only perform this action while in the overworld map or at designated save points.
