When you encounter the Golem for the second time, you will face two of them simultaneously.

Prepare for this battle by ensuring Crono, Frog, and Lucca know their Single Techs.

The Golems have a "Halves HP" attack (Iron Sphere), so be ready to use Frog's *Heal immediately after.

Use Crono's *Luminaire, Frog's Frog Squash or *Heal when needed, and Lucca's *Flare.
