Alright, let's talk about Medina Village in 1000 A.D. This place is pretty unique. When you first arrive, you'll notice it's populated almost entirely by Mystics. Keep an eye out for the statue in the center – it's of Magus, and later, Ozzie. Now, here's the tricky part: because of the past conflict between Humans and Mystics back in the Middle Ages, most of the villagers here are super hostile towards humans. This means shopkeepers and innkeepers will charge you an insane amount of money for their goods and services. Seriously, some prices might be completely unaffordable for you and your team. They might even try to attack you just because you're human! Don't worry, though. This anti-human sentiment and the crazy prices will disappear after you defeat Ozzie. He's the Elder at this time, by the way. While you're here, you might hear about a monster called Heckran living in a nearby cave. The locals will tell you it can only be killed by magic, and that humans can't use magic anymore. Interesting tidbit, right? Also, you'll find that Guru Melchior has set up his residence, Melchior's Cabin, not too far from town. It's worth checking out. One more thing: if you happen to lose to Lavos prematurely, there's a cut-scene that mentions Medina being destroyed by his arrival. The worshipers in the center of Medina even pray for the Day of Lavos to wipe out humans, thinking they'll be spared. Spoiler: they're not. Oh, and just so you know, a worker in 2400 A.D. mentions being from Medina, so the city definitely exists in the future too.
