Walkthrough
- 1Upon entering Imnesvale, observe the villagers' meeting with Minister Lloyd regarding mysterious disappearances. Speak to Nelleck for details.
- 2Head northwest to the Umar Inn and speak with the traders. Purchase the book History of the Zhentarim from Fael.
- 3When Fael asks for his former name, select "Darcin Cole". Failure to do so will cause him to disappear.
- 4Loot the bedrooms in the Umar Inn, ensuring trap detection (a mechanic to spot and disarm traps) is enabled before opening wardrobes.
- 5Proceed east to Minister Lloyd's house. He will task you with investigating the ogres and searching Merella's Cabin.
- 6Go north from Lloyd's house to find the wizard Jermien's dwelling. Speak to Daar outside to learn about his forbidden love for Jermien's daughter, Colette, initiating a sidequest.
- 7Inquire with Jermien about his stone golem. He requires the blood of a mimic as a crucial ingredient and offers a magic sword as a reward. Warning: Do not attempt to loot Jermien's home, as he will become hostile.
- 8Continue north to find teenage adventurers. They will ask you to purchase bastard swords and De'Tranion Baalor Ale from the vendors outside the inn. While they offer more money than the items cost, the experience points (1000 or 2000) are not worth the hassle; decline their request.
- 9Go west and speak to the farmer Jeb. Pay him 20G (he initially asks for 30G) to learn that farmer Hendrick has hidden something valuable in a chicken's gizzard.
- 10Speak to Erlin Hendrick. You can either threaten him or offer him money. He will accept any price and give you a Beljuril gem, which can be used to upgrade the Horn of Valhalla.
- 11Return to Jeb and head north across the stream. Continue northwest to find Madulf and his mercenary band. Agree to propose their offer of protection to the mayor.
- 12Before returning to the village, go west across the stream to the Umar Cave. Inside, a Killer Mimic guards an enticing chest. Defeat it and loot the chest for Mimic's Blood and a Diamond.
- 13Explore further into the Umar Cave to find two Umber Hulks guarding minor treasure.
- 14Climb the steps west of the cave and speak to Ranger Derrick. Reassure him you are not looking for a fight to pass without incident.
- 15Continue east to Valygar's Cabin. Enter and find Valygar in the back room. He will mention a "damnable sphere" created by his ancestor, Lavok.
- 16Agree to enter the Planar Sphere with Valygar to deal with Lavok. He will join your party, granting you 9500XP.

Tips: Valygar is an excellent scout with high Dexterity, making him a capable front-line fighter if his AC (Armor Class) is improved.
- Go back down the steps and south across the stream. Continue west to the Ranger's Cabin.
- Search the dining table for Merella's Journal and read it.
- Read the Note from Mazzy Fentan on the floor near the mangled remains on the bed to update your world map with the location of the Temple Ruins.
- Return to Imnesvale and inform Minister Lloyd of Madulf's proposal for 27500XP.
- Go to Jermien's House. Surround the Stone Golem with your party members. Provide Jermien with the Mimic's blood to receive 19250XP and the Ilbratha +1 short sword. Jermien will then proceed to activate his golem.
