A comprehensive walkthrough for the Rasaad questline in Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn, detailing every step, choice, and reward.
Walkthrough
- 1If Rasaad is in your party at the City Gates, a "Cloaked Figure" will approach. Admit you know Rasaad to trigger a meeting and add the Abandoned Amphitheater to your map.
- 2Travel to the Abandoned Amphitheater. You'll encounter Geld Quickblade offering safe passage for 5000G. Refuse his offer and enable trap detection, as there are four traps on the path.
- 3Encounter Geld Quickblade again. Kill him and the attacking Dire Wolves. Loot his body for basic +1 items and potions.
- 4Proceed to the amphitheater in the northeast. A guard will challenge you. It's more profitable to fight and kill the monks. Search their bodies for a note revealing the location of the Twofold Temple. Each party member gains 3000XP.
- 5Go south from the amphitheater to find the Vagrant Blades arguing over a magical belt. Intervene and offer to adjudicate.
- 6To get the most profitable outcome, claim the belt for yourself, causing all Vagrant Blades to become hostile. Defeat them and loot their remains for: Hojar's Fame +1 battleaxe, Scimitar +1, Dagger +1, Composite Longbow +1, Lupine Sling +2, Studded Leather +1, Chain Mail +1, Splint Mail +1, Knave's Robe, Brooch of the Vagrant Blades, Ox-Tail Belt, and Potions of Extra Healing and Invulnerability.
- 7Return to your starting point and select the Heretic Temple from the world map.
- 8The Tears of Selûne encounter is automatic on the world map en route to the Heretic Temple. The monks hunting Rasaad will attack. It's more profitable to fight them. Loot their bodies for: Hawksight +2 scimitar, Cloak of Unerring Strikes, Cowl of the Stars, and Potions of Extra Healing.
- 9At the Heretic Temple - Exterior, head south and speak with Herath (flavor character). Continue south, kill a Spotted Lion and Wolves, and reach a bridge guarded by a Heretic Guard. Answer sarcastically to provoke a fight, earning 4000XP.
- 10On the other side of the bridge, another Heretic Guard blocks the way. Let Rasaad speak to him, and he will step aside.
- 11Head south for a cutscene where former Sun Soul Monks fight wild animals. After the fight, speak to the Grizzly Bear named Wilson.
- 12Agree to help Wilson. Jolstead, the beast master, will offer to sell Wilson for 1000G, but you can negotiate a lower price. Freeing Wilson earns 5000XP.
- 13Continue east to find three Sun Soul Monks staked out. Point out their torture, and they will get up, leaving their ropes. Each party member gains 1000XP. Take one of the ropes.
- 14Return to the temple entrance and go to the roof. Use the rope to descend through the hole, earning 2000XP per party member.
- 15At the Heretic Temple - Interior, listen to Collus Darathon's speech about four tests.
- 16The first test, Blinding Sun, is to the right of the entrance. Agree to the test and fight three Invisible Stalkers while saving against blindness each round. Success yields 3000XP and a Gem of Seeing.
- 17In the dormitory to the north, find a locked container with potions. Continue to the next test.
- 18Take a Ninja-to +1 from the weapon rack. Search other containers (one is trapped and locked) for magical ammo.
- 19Agree to the Pain test. You'll be stripped of equipment and beaten by three monks until you renounce the Twofold Truth. Hold out until the chief torturer asks your name. The test ends, granting 10000XP and the Eyes of the Beholder.
- 20To the left of the Pain Room is a trapped and locked door. Inside is a trapped and locked chest containing a Star Sapphire and protection scrolls.
- 21Proceed to the third test, Penitence. When questioned, select "must it be mine" and make up a story. You will earn 10000XP and the Cloak of Atonement.
