Alright, you've made it through the initial stages in Athkatla, but the adventure is far from over! As you start venturing out into the wider world map, get ready for some unexpected meetings. Not all of them are random; some are scripted to test you.

- 1The Renfeld Encounter: You might have already bumped into this while just moving around Athkatla. Keep an eye out for a group of thugs hassling a fellow named Renfeld. Once you've sorted them out, Renfeld will plead for your assistance. He claims he's been poisoned and needs you to escort him to his companions in the southwest Docks District of Athkatla. Agree to help, and he'll hop into your backpack. You've got a generous 10-day window to get him there, so don't stress too much about rushing, especially if you were already heading somewhere important. The thugs you defeated often drop useful potions and some low-level scrolls, so make sure to loot them!
- 2The Doppelganger Ambush: Later on, you'll run into a group of travelers who seem curious about your journey. When they ask who you are, be wary. If you tell them, they'll reveal their true nature: they're Doppelgangers, shapeshifters who will transform into exact copies of you and your party members before attacking.
