A comprehensive guide to the Bridge District in Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn, detailing quests, item locations, and character interactions to help you navigate this crucial area.
When you arrive in the Bridge District, Lieutenant Aegisfield will warn you about recent grisly murders where people are being skinned alive. He'll give you the names of victims: Faraji, Old Rampah, and Rose. Your investigation begins.
Head south to a square behind the Balthis Estate. You'll find Reynald de Chatillon and Fallen Paladins fighting smugglers led by Rindus. Aid the Fallen Paladins. De Chatillon will offer you a job to steal a cup from his leader, Anarg, in the High Hall. Loot Rindus's body for potions and a scroll.
Go west along the bridge from your starting point. You'll see citizens discussing a guild war over dead Shadow Thieves, which is flavor text. Further west, find a house with fish on a table. Inside, clear traps downstairs and upstairs. In the chest at the foot of the bed upstairs, you'll find the Silver Horn of Valhalla. If you have a Diamond, Maheer in Waukeen's Promenade can upgrade it.
West of there, under an archway, you'll find the beggar Rampah. For 100G, he'll give you a piece of Exotic Hide, a clue to the murders.
South of Rampah is a house with barrels. Inside is a trapped and locked crate containing an Ankheg Shell. This can be crafted into Ankheg Plate Mail by Cromwell in the docks, though it's expensive and likely not the best armor. Be aware the occupant becomes hostile if you try to take other valuables.
The house directly below that is hostile. Inside are Dracandros (Mage), Valeria and Falahar (Fighters), and Pitre (Cleric). You'll gain XP and find Bracers of Defense AC 7 among their loot, along with mundane equipment. Two trapped containers hold gold, jewelry, and scrolls.
Continue west to the Merchant's Square. Speak politely to Rose Bouquet, who will charge 20G for information. She mentions a smell of guril berries. The merchant Bel Dalemark can identify guril berries, oak bark, and solik berries. He also identifies Exotic Hide as elephant hide and mentions the tanner Rejiek. Rose identifies the smell as oak bark, used for tannin. It's time to visit Rejiek.
Enter the Tanner's House to the south. Rejiek Hidesman will confront you. Ask about the elephant hide and tannin to learn the truth, earning 23250XP. Rejiek then turns hostile and flees. Follow him downstairs, using missile weapons due to traps. You cannot kill him now. He descends further, where you'll find Vellin Dahn, two Ghasts, two Rune Assassins, and a Bone Golem. Dahn declares Rejiek's work must continue and teleports away. You'll unlock the Great Detective trophy for solving the murders. Loot the Assassins for Short Swords +1. A nearby trapped chest contains the Gesen Bow Shaft, and another has scrolls.
Return to Lieutenant Aegisfield to report your findings. You may witness Neera thwarting Red Wizards. Reporting your findings earns you 500G, 45000XP, and +1 Reputation.
The Tanner's Note provides clues to identify Vellin Dahn's contact in the Umar Hills, revealing the name Darcin Cole.
Head to the Five Flagons Inn in the Merchant's Square. You can talk to a few inconsequential people there and pick up a f
