Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn companion details including Aerie, Anomen Delryn, Cernd, Dorn, Edwin Odesseiron, and Haer'Dalis. Learn their stats and recruitment.

Aerie

Aerie is a Cleric / Mage with stats STR 10, INT 16, WIS 16, DEX 17, CON 9, CHA 14, and LG alignment. She is proficient with Mace +, Quarterstaff +, and Sling +. Aerie is one of the frailest companions and, while capable of filling two roles, is often outshined by dedicated specialists later in the game, especially for high-level magic casting. Her dual-class nature also limits her effectiveness as a ranged fighter compared to others.

Recruitment

Aerie is found trapped as an ogre in the Circus Tent in Waukeen's Promenade. Freeing her from this curse allows you to recruit her.

Anomen Delryn

Anomen Delryn is a Fighter -> Cleric with stats STR 18/52, INT 10, WIS 12, DEX 10, CON 16, CHA 13, and LN alignment. He is proficient with War Hammer +, Spear ++, Mace ++, Quarterstaff +, Sling ++, and Sword and Shield Style ++. As a dual-class character, Anomen has the potential to be an excellent undead killer. His high Strength is beneficial, though his Dexterity is lacking. His Wisdom is initially low for a cleric role and his personality is grating, but both improve if he passes his test of knighthood, increasing his Wisdom to 16. Failing the test results in him becoming nihilistic. To make him a front-line fighter, you may need to compete for items like the Gauntlets of Dexterity. For builds past level 12, consider specializing in Flails for the Flail of Ages or mastering Maces.

Recruitment

Anomen can be found in the Copper Coronet and will join your party without any reservations.

Cernd

Cernd is a Shapeshifter with Level 10, HP 62, STR 13, INT 12, WIS 18, DEX 9, CON 13, CHA 15, and TN alignment. He is proficient with Scimitar +, Dagger +, Quarterstaff +, and Sling +. If acquired with enough experience to reach level 13, Cernd is near his peak upon unlocking the Greater Werewolf transformation. However, this form's effectiveness diminishes quickly, leaving him with a weak character class and poor physical attributes. His effectiveness as a front-line fighter is significantly lower than most other companions. As a caster, his 18 Wisdom grants bonus spells, and he can use defensive abilities like Barkskin and Iron Skins. However, he faces stiff competition from established party members like Jaheira, Anomen, or Viconia.

Recruitment

Cernd is held in protective custody in the cells beneath the Mayor's House in Trademeet. Logan Coprith will ask you to speak with him, and Cernd will request to join your party to help investigate the town's attacks.

Dorn

Dorn is a Blackguard with stats STR 19, INT 10, WIS 15, DEX 16, CON 14, CHA 16, and NE alignment. He is proficient with Two-Handed Sword++, Crossbow ++, and Two-Handed Weapon Style ++. Dorn possesses useful immunities, including Negative Plane Protection and immunity to Fear. However, his primary strength, a 19 Strength, is not as exceptional as it once was. His main drawbacks are his reliance on brute strength, a lack of other offensive options, and compromised defense due to using two-handed weapons, coupled with lower HP. For an evil fighter who enjoys combat, Korgan is often a preferred alternative.

Recruitment

Dorn can be found outside the High Hall of the Radiant Heart in the Temple District. Recruiting him may require dismissing other party members.

Edwin Odesseiron

Edwin Odesseiron is a Mage with stats STR 10, INT 18, WIS 10, DEX 10, CON 16, CHA 10, and LE alignment. He is proficient with Dagger + and Quarterstaff +. His special ability grants extra spells per day. Edwin is considered the best spellcaster due to his specialization and Family Amulet, allowing him more spells of each level than companions like Imoen. His high Intelligence ensures efficient spell learning and a high Lore skill, second only to Haer'Dalis. While his other attributes are generally poor, they are less critical for a caster. He has a well-stocked spellbook, though Stoneskin is notably absent. He lacks a missile weapon proficiency, so consider taking Slings or Darts at level 12. The Boomerang Dagger can be a useful early weapon if obtainable.

Recruitment

Edwin is located in Mae'Var's Guildhall in the Docks District. He will offer to join your group after you progress through the related quest.

Haer'Dalis

Haer'Dalis is a Blade with stats STR 17, INT 15, WIS 13, DEX 17, CON 9, CHA 16, and CN alignment. He is proficient with Short Sword++, Dagger +, Dart +, and Two-Weapon Style ++. He also possesses elemental and damage resistance.
