This guide covers Chapter 1: Birth in Routine, detailing the steps to progress through the initial stages of the game.
Walkthrough
- 1After the intro cutscene, approach your helmet on the wall and interact with it.
- 2Look at the computer screen to the right of the helmet. Complete the tutorial on the FORM tab.
- 3Press the PRINT tab and PRINT ID. Grab the fallen ID from the left side of the computer by crouching (CTRL + Space) and pressing E/M1.
- 4Go to the computer beside the door and press OPEN DOOR. Leave your room and walk left towards the panoramic screen.
- 5Go to the elevator door and interact with the computer. To find the password, go to the room to the right of the panoramic screen (meeting room A01).
- 6In meeting room A01, go to the second table on the left to collect your C.A.T. tool.
- 7On the right side of the meeting room, use the computer to open another door. Find batteries (blue-colored) inside, either from the recycling center or underneath shelves by crouching.
- 8With a battery, go to the projection on the wall in the meeting room. Press R to view your tool, then press the Wireless Access Point button (triangles and lines symbol).
- 9Connect to the screen on the wall, go to the DATABASE page, and note the elevator keycode (e.g., 4832 - this code is random per player).
- 10Return to the elevator door and enter the noted code into the KEYPAD. Press OPEN DOOR to enter the elevator, then press GATEWAY on the computer.
- 11Exit the elevator and walk left to the ASN terminal. Listen to the voice recording and view the screen for an access code.
- 12Go back towards the elevator and look right at the Tram Station. Follow the cables from the gate to the box on the wall above the note. Aim your C.A.T. tool (M2) and fire a pulse (M1) to open the gate.
- 13Walk through the opened gate to the Tram Station. Approach the Tram and use the computer screen inside to select a location. Choose the Mall.
- 14At the Mall, go to the front desk and press the IC assistance button. Follow the droid over the computer and log in with your ID number (found on the front of your suit, e.g., 9601 - this ID is unique to each player).
- 15Select Business or Pleasure as your purpose. An error will pop up.
- 16Go back to the front desk and press the IC assistance button again. Follow the IC bot to a different entrance into the mall and climb down the ladder.
- 17At the bottom of the ladder, walk straight to the Wireless Access Point. Walk to the right of it, and on the far wall, find a hatch with cables. Follow the cables to an electrical box, aim your C.A.T. tool (M2), and fire (M1) to open the hatch. Press CTRL to climb through.
- 18Inside the room, a gate will close. Crouch and look under the Checkout desk for a red button. Press it, and hide behind the desk as a bot breaks open the gate.
- 19Once the gate is opened and the bot is out of the way, run left, then right towards Galaxy Video.
- 20Walk down the hall to the right of the Access Point (left side of Galaxy Video) to reach the security room. Read the note on the door; the meeting is moved to MEGAZONE.
- 21To reach MEGAZONE, go back to the plant area before the video store, through Union Plaza, towards the panel of screens, and take a left. Go down the hall, take a right into the purple-lit area, go around the planter, and crouch (CTRL) under the shutters into MEGAZONE.
- 22In MEGAZONE, find a powered-on arcade machine (back row with Gunshow image) and interact with it (E/M1). Press the arrow prompts to play the game and earn the achievement.
Tips
- Hostile bots roam certain areas and cannot be fought; avoid them by running (SHIFT) or hiding.
- Your C.A.T. tool uses batteries, with three uses per battery. Check charge by pressing R and looking at the meter.
- Keycodes and ID numbers are randomized for each player; always check your in-game Database or suit for the correct information.
