Find the Old Couple's House and Isaac's Spring in Risk of Rain Returns. Learn about enemies, items like the Fire Extinguisher and Alkali Wax, and how to deal with the 'acid' status effect.

The Old Couple's House is located east of the Big Cannon area on a small island. Isaac's Spring is further east from the house. Enemies in this area include Crabgun, 85 Mobile Artillery, Acid Ant, Burner Hopper, Patrol Punishment, Hippogun, and Pickaxe Bird.

Inside the house, you can find a Fire Extinguisher in the stove and Alkali Wax in the sink.

To reach the house, drive through the Big Cannon platform and head east, following the narrow track between the mountains and the water. The house is isolated by water. This initial journey has no explosions or enemies.

Upon arriving at the house, the couple will express displeasure about the destruction of the Big Cannon but will provide a hint about a "secret portal." If you return to the Big Cannon area and investigate the spot in front of the rock, just before the platform, it will reveal an access point to the Subway Ruins, though it currently leads nowhere. This suggests the possibility of other explorable underground locations.

Continue south and east until you find another small hut near some broken road. You will encounter Acid Ants on the way, and the "acid" status effect will persist after battle. Use Alkali Wax from your inventory to cure this. The acid status is a frequent and annoying effect, so it is advisable to keep a couple of spare Alkali Wax items in your inventory at all times.
