Detailed walkthrough for the Spec Ops campaign in Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, covering Mission 1: Eye of the Storm, including character recommendations and objectives.

This walkthrough portion of the guide is for the downloadable Spec Ops campaign of Operation Raccoon City. This campaign allows players to play as the members of Echo Six. The first mission of this campaign is free and can be downloaded from both the PS Store and Xbox Marketplace. Missions 2-4 and Missions 5-7 costs $9.99 (or 800 points) each through the PS3 and Xbox 360 online service.

The item lists for the Spec Ops campaign are not be as detailed as the USS campaign in this guide. I only list out the full detailed locations for each piece of intel. Item locations are sometimes in the walkthrough portion, but I often just list them out with no locations for the Spec Ops campaign.

MISSION 1 - EYE OF THE STORM

AREA: STREETS OF RACCOON CITY

No one knows what happened to Raccoon City - it just went quiet. The few reports collected are nonsensical, at best. To discover the truth, the government has sent a team of special operatives known as Echo Six

Recommended Characters (Classes)

  • Dee-Ay (Assault Class) - Dee-Ay's super soldier ability will help out a bunch in damaging the boss in this mission. Your character will take much more damage from the boss through gunfire while it is in effect. Keep in mind that Dee-Ay will also be invincible, so he can dash out in front of gunfire while the Super Soldier ability is in affect in this mission. The incendiary rounds ability might help against the bosses as well but Super Soldier is still better. Dee-Ay really shines in this mission.
  • Tweed (Demolition Class) - Tweed's sticky bombs can help her to damage this mission's boss with extra explosive damage. She can also use the sticky bombs to help out in killing the Crimson Head zombies at the Radio Station.
  • Harley (Medic Class) - There is always a need for extra healing here and there in this mission depending on how well you know it, so Harley's ability to carry more first aid sprays can be useful.
  • Shona (Field Scientist Class) - It's very easy to get infected in this mission with the number of zombies your character will face, so Shona's ability to carry extra antiviral sprays can come in handy.

Streets and Alley

Objective: Go to the Raccoon City Police Department

Echo Six will start out in the streets of Raccoon City. Spec Ops Command will contact your group and tell them to go to the R.P.D. building and meet up with the local authorities in order to file a report on the incident taking place. At first, your team can only walk, but after the conversation with Command, your team can move faster. Your team still can't sprint or use weapons or abilities at the moment.

Move into the alley up ahead and follow it out onto the next side of the street. The objective marker is in the alley on the other side of the street. As your team steps into the alley a person will step out from the back of the alley. A player needs to approach the civilian.

Oh, dear! That's not a civilian. It's... it's a zombie! Tap the melee attack button so the zombie doesn't grab your character! Then stagger it and press the interact or ability button to give it a good pounding with a melee kill.

Alley with Zombies

Zombies will step out from the alley to the left. As your team moves into the alley, zombies will bust through the doors off to the sides and attack. Back up and allow them to gather then start killing them. Command tells you it's ok to use force on any hostiles, so take out a shotgun and blow off their top half or stomp their head into the ground with your boot from a melee kill. No reason to be civil now - they attacked your team first! Time to mutilate!

NOTE: The zombies in the door spawn point under the stairs always get stuck inside. You'll have to shoot them from a distance. It's most likely some sort of AI glitch.

If a player rushes into the alley with tons of zombies present, that player runs the risk of getting infected, and there are no antiviral sprays in this alley. Check the area over for items once the zombies are exterminated then step out into the street past the alley up ahead.

INTEL

  • Intel 1 - Behind the blue dumpster off to the left in the alley. There is a small fire on the ground near this.
  • Intel 2 - At the top of the walkway up the right set of stairs in the
