Key Attacks:

• Claw Combo: Swipes in front of itself multiple times.
• Roll: Curls up and rolls in any direction, often followed by a Tongue Swipe.
• Tongue Swipe: Crouches and shoots its tongue forward, then swipes it sideways with huge range.
• Divebomb: Curls up, leaps into the air, and attempts to land on the hunter.
• Spit: Curls its head back and launches a ball of spit that can paralyze on hit.
• Steam Release: Bubbles before releasing steam, inflicting the 'soiled' status (prevents healing item use) on nearby hunters.

Recommended Strategy:

It’s a good idea to try and stay close to Volvidon, circling around him with a constant flurry of attacks and ensuring you dodge regularly. If you let him get any distance between you and him then it is vital that you watch out for his Tongue Swipe, as it reaches out devastatingly quickly. Staying close to him means that this is less of a concern, but his rolls still come out incredibly quickly. So again, attack once or twice then move, attack and move, but try and stay on top of the Volvidon. If he does move away then holster your weapon and run at him from the side from a wide angle to try and avoid a rather literal licking, and just focus on bearing down on the beast and dealing the damage when you have the chance.
