Alright, let's get you oriented with the first few areas of the Deserted Island in Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. Think of these as your starting zones, good for getting your bearings and grabbing some basic supplies.

Deserted Island Area 1

This is the very first spot you'll see when heading out from Moga Village. It's a pretty small cliffside area, not much to see here, and it's really only big enough for smaller monsters like a Great Jaggi to show up. Keep an eye out, though – you can sometimes spot some Kelbi hopping around.

Deserted Island Area 2

Moving on, Area 2 is a bit bigger and usually has a bunch of passive creatures hanging out. It's a solid spot for gathering essential materials like Herbs, Ivy, Blue Mushrooms, Honey, Snakebee Larva, and Raw Meat. You'll often see Aptonoth just passing through, and Altaroth are busy little guys, moving between the waterfall and the northern wall to collect mushrooms and honey.

Deserted Island Area 3

Area 3 is a bit of a crevice with two small clearings. This spot is a known hangout for Arzuros, and sometimes even a Rathian might show up if it's feeling bold. Be aware, though – Felynes like to hang out here too, which can make fighting bigger monsters a bit of a hassle. It's a good idea to deal with any cats first before you focus on the main threat.

• Despite the cramped size, this is a favourite arena of Rathian-like creatures
• Altaroth can sometimes be found on the western wall, harvesting mushrooms.
• Kelbi are often found galloping around in the western clearing.
