Egg Collecting: Non Hunting Quests

Alright, so you've decided to take on those tricky egg collecting quests in Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. They can be a bit of a pain if you don't know what you're doing, but don't worry, I've got your back! These aren't your typical hunts, so we'll need a slightly different approach.

Plan Your Route: Seriously, this is half the battle. Before you even think about grabbing an egg, scout out the nest and figure out the safest path back. You can't use those cool cliff-jump transitions while carrying an egg, and sometimes rocks can block your way. Knowing your route beforehand makes you way faster and less likely to get ambushed.

Tag Big Monsters: Always bring Paintballs with you. You can craft them using Paintberries and Bomb Casings. Why? Because knowing where the big guys are is super important. If a monster roars nearby while you're carrying an egg, you can get flinched and drop it! If you've got armour skills or food buffs to prevent that, great, but if not, knowing a monster is close lets you react or even avoid the area entirely.

Bring Dash Juice: You'll be doing a LOT of running with that egg. Trust me, your stamina will thank you. Dash Juice is a lifesaver here. You can make it by combining a Rare Steak with a Catalyst. If you want to go even further, Mega Dash Juice is made from Dash Juice and a Well-done Steak.

Go Wide Around Enemies: So, here's the deal: Felynx and Melynx (those little cat monsters) get super aggressive when they see you carrying an egg. The game also loves to throw a bunch of other aggressive creatures at you during these quests. You'll definitely run into enemies, and it's unavoidable. The trick is to give them a wide berth. Don't walk right up to them, but also don't go so far out of your way that you waste precious time and risk a big monster showing up. It's a delicate balance!
