Delex: Piscine Wyvern 2

Fight Delex, sand-swimming monsters in monster hunter 3 ultimate. Learn their spit and bite attacks and how Sonic Bombs exploit their sound weakness.

Delex are fish-like monsters that swim in the sand rather than in the sea. Because of their speed and general evasiveness, they can be difficult to slay for hunters with slow weapons. However, the Delex are extremely sensitive to sound; a well-timed Sonic Bomb will render them open and defenceless.

Weaknesses:

• Weak Spots: Everywhere
• Susceptible: N/A
• Strong Against: Dragon, Fire
• Weak Against: Water, Thunder

Attacks:

• Spit: The Delex will poke its head out the sand, stationary, and hurl a sand projectile at a nearby hunter.
• Bite: As the Delex is arcing through the sand, it may leap out in an aggressive bite, lashing its head from side to side.

Recommended Strategy:

If you are getting ready to fight Delex then make sure to pack some Sonic Bombs as they make fighting them much easier. If you can’t get your hands on any sonic bombs then you’ll have to make do with a spot of blind luck.

Hitting the Delex as they move through the sand will pull them up for you to attack freely and if you stand near them they will likely gather around you, making them easy to swat. Be warned that attracting one will also incur the wrath of its pride so be prepared to wave your weapon around a bit to exterminate them all.
