Learn how to beat Vanitas in Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX! This guide covers his stats, weaknesses, phases, and the strategy you need to win.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Health Points: 700
• Strength: 26
• Defense: 15
• Status Resistance: Immune to all
• Elemental Weaknesses: Physical x 1.0, Fire x 1.0, Blizzard x 1.0, Thunder x 1.0, Dark x 1.0

Phases:

1. Opening Shotlock: Vanitas starts with a Shotlock attack. Immediately use your own Shotlock to become invulnerable and deal damage.
2. Unblockable Attacks: Many of Vanitas' attacks cannot be blocked. Dodging is less important than actively attacking to counter him.
3. Ventus Dimension Link: When Vanitas' health is low, the screen will flash, and Ventus will become a Dimension Link. You'll need to perform a series of button combinations to fend him off.
4. Last Word Command: The ultimate goal is to charge your Command Gauge and use the Last Word finish command. This is the only way to win the fight.

Strategy:

• When Vanitas uses his Shotlock at the start, respond with your own immediately. This makes you invulnerable and deals damage.
• Don't focus too much on dodging his unblockable attacks; instead, use your own attacks to counter his and create openings.
• Utilize Shotlocks whenever you have a large enough opening to deal significant damage.
• If you have the Faith or Salvation abilities, they can be lifesavers during this fight.
• When Vanitas is low on health, pay close attention to the on-screen prompts for the button combinations required to fend him off and ultimately use the Last Word command.

Note: After this fight, do not overwrite your current save file. Instead, start a new game and save in a new slot with a new character.

Aqua's Story - Mark of Mastery Tutorial

After completing the tutorial and choosing Aqua, you'll begin the day she seeks her Mark of Mastery. Your task is to defeat the Orbs of Light. These are fast-moving balls that emit light if left alone for too long. You can defeat them using your abilities with a hack-and-slash approach. If the Orbs of Light get too far away, use Aqua's Shotlock to close the distance and destroy them.

After the battle and some cutscenes, you'll be taken to the World Map. The Keyblade Board (Land of Departure) will unlock on your Command Board. When you're ready, head to the Castle of Dreams.

Castle of Dreams - Treasures and Collectibles

As Aqua arrives in the Castle of Dreams, she'll meet Terra. Grab the treasures scattered around the room: a [FLEETING CRYSTAL], [BARRIER SURGE], [POTION], and the [THUNDERSTORM SHOTLOCK]. You can also find the [FIREWORKS STICKER] in the middle of the top area near the steps.

Enter the Ballroom to the north for a scene. Remember to re-equip Aqua's Command Deck, as you'll be fighting enemies from this point onward. It's recommended to equip Thunderstorm (or Ragnarok if you obtained it from the Command Board) instead of Aqua's default Keyblade abilities.
