Learn how to set up and enjoy multiplayer in Fantasy Life! Discover how to connect locally or online, invite friends, and make the most of your shared adventures in Reveria.

Alright, so you wanna team up with your buddies in Fantasy Life? It's pretty straightforward to get started! First things first, you'll need to head over to the Castele Guild Office. Once you're there, make your way to the back and look for the Multiplayer Clerk – they're the one who'll get you all set up.

When you chat with the clerk, you'll have a choice to make: do you want to play Local Wireless with friends who are physically nearby, or connect over the Internet using your 3DS's Wi-Fi? Pick the one that works for your crew.

After that, you'll decide whether you want to Visit someone else's game world or be the host and Invite others to join yours. Just follow the prompts, and you'll be adventuring together in no time!

When you're ready to call it a day, just head back to the Multiplayer Clerk and let them know you want to quit. Just a heads-up, though: if you're hosting the game, you can't just up and leave if other players are still hanging out in your world. You can also close your portal to prevent anyone new from joining if you need to wrap things up.

What You Can and Can't Do Together

The best part? You and your friends can explore pretty much the entire world of Reveria together! You can fight monsters, discover new areas, and generally just have a blast like you normally would. Think of it as your regular Fantasy Life, but with backup!

However, there are a few things you'll need to keep in mind:

  • You won't be able to change your Life, take on new Requests, or progress the main story while playing together.
  • Some of the Quick Travel points might be off-limits.
  • The in-game clock won't advance while you're playing multiplayer.
  • You can't bring your NPC allies along – after all, your human friends are way more fun!

On the flip side, you can use Quick Travel to warp to another player's location, which is super handy for getting everyone together quickly. And don't forget the Chat function! It's right there on the bottom screen, letting you send messages to your pals. Fair warning though, the in-game keyboard isn't the greatest, so you might want to have another way to communicate ready.

Sharing the Spoils: Items in Multiplayer

Worried about accidentally snagging loot your friends wanted? Don't be! Everyone gets their own individual loot from monsters, so you can pick up whatever you find without any fuss. It's like everyone gets their own personal treasure chest!

Bounties are a bit different, though. There's only one Bounty active for the whole party at a time, and you can only have three going at once. But here's the cool part: whoever cashes in a Bounty gets multiples of the reward item – one for each player in the group! You can then share these out however you like.

If you want to trade items directly, you can use the Exchange Box. You'll find it in the Castele Guild Office, and it lets you deposit or withdraw up to 8 items at a time. It's perfect for sharing gear or consumables with your friends.
