Master fantasy life with these 5 starting tips: explore all Life roles, don't sell items, use Quick Travel, chat with colleagues, and use multiplayer.
Walkthrough
- 1Try a New Life: While you can complete the main story in one Life, it's highly recommended to switch between the 12 available Life roles to experience the full game. Roles like Miner, Woodcutter, and Angler are good for gathering materials. Blacksmiths craft gear, but need materials from Miners. Miners might need protection from monsters, which Paladins or Mercenaries can provide. Change Life roles anytime, especially when struggling or if you have free time.
- 2Don't Sell Anything: Unless you are extremely low on money, avoid selling items. Requests or crafting recipes in other Life roles might require items you've found or been given. For example, Truffles are rare mushrooms given near the end of the story, with at least 3 needed for Cook Challenges, and are otherwise rare drops. Inventory space is generally not an issue if you claim increased Item Bag and Storage space Bliss Bonuses. The exception is equipment you've outgrown or items that are easily crafted or gathered.
- 3Make Use of Quick Travel: Reveria is a large world. Use your Map to Quick Travel to your home, Life Master, or Castele Guild Office. Speak to the Guide Paladins in Castele and the East Grassy Plains to transport to various locations. The Guide Paladin near Mt. Snowpeak can transport you to the summit after unlocking it, and one near the Elderwood entrance can take you further in. Purchased holiday homes also serve as expensive Quick Travel destinations.
- 4Chat To Life Colleagues: Friendly NPCs called Life colleagues, identified by their Life icon, offer wisdom, tips, Challenges, presents, or recipes. A "?" thought bubble indicates new information. Each colleague has two default conversations, plus one more for each Life rank you achieve. Your Life Master also counts as a colleague, but requires selecting the "Chat" option. Keep talking until their "?" bubble disappears.
- 5Phone a Friend: If you face an insurmountable obstacle or can't find a material, use Local or Online Multiplayer mode to ask a friend for help. If you don't have friends playing, seek assistance on the Internet through online communities. Teaming up is great for defeating tough monsters or acquiring rare items. The Life system encourages players with different Lifes to assist each other, like a Blacksmith needing ores from a Miner. Multiplayer is also fun.
