Follow this comprehensive Fantasy Life Miner guide to learn how to mine ore, find rare gems like Topaz, and sell your findings for Dosh. Master the Miner life!
Walkthrough
- 1Meet Duglas, the Miner Master, in front of the disused mine entrance in East Castele. Head south from Castele Square, then east. Follow the minecart tracks south-east.
- 2Go to the Castele Artisans’ District to find Duglas's house. Speak to his wife, Mary, to receive the Beginner’s Pickaxe.
- 3Return to Duglas in East Castele. He will teach you the Mining skill. Equip your Beginner’s Pickaxe via the “Gear“ menu.
- 4Mine 3 pieces of Castele Copper from the nearby Copper Deposits (orange-brownish rocks up the ramp to the north). Approach a deposit, press A when prompted, and repeatedly press A to mine. Use SP Potions or Spring Water if SP runs low.
- 5Speak to Duglas again to report your findings.
- 6Head back to the Castele Artisans’ District and find the stall “Ores and Mine” (left of the Shady Shop). Sell your 3 Castele Copper for 60 Dosh.
- 7Speak to Duglas again. He will mention Angela wants a Topaz.
- 8Speak to Molan the mole in East Castele for information on finding Topaz.
- 9Travel to West Castele. Head west from South Castele, then past the choir hall. The rare ore deposit is to the right after the second ramp.
- 10Mine a Topaz from the rare ore deposit. To mine rare gems, find the deposit’s “sweet spot” by attacking from different angles (8 total) until you hear a “crashing” sound and deal higher damage. Attack rhythmically for best results.
Tips
- Keep SP Potions handy when mining, as mining consumes SP.
- If you run out of SP, use SP Potions or items like Spring Water.
- Rare ore deposits have more HP and require precise attacks on their “sweet spot” for efficient mining.
- Pay attention to attack rhythm; rapid button presses deal less damage than a well-timed sequence.
- Ores can be sold to any shop in the future or saved for Blacksmithing.
