Learn about Fallout's Main Skills: Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agility, and Luck. Understand how they affect gameplay.
Walkthrough
- 1Understand that all skills are important, but certain stats are recommended to be kept at a minimum of 4: Luck, Strength, and Perception.
- 2Be aware that characters with an Intelligence value of three or less will face significantly different dialogue options, limited to basic responses like "Ruk," "Eeg," "Yah," "Uh-Huh," and "want morE."
- 3Strength: Modifies carry weight, hit points, weapon handling, and some weapon skills.
- 4Perception: Modifies some skills and increases accuracy at range.
- 5Endurance: Affects toughness, modifying some skills, hit points, and resistance to poison and radiation.
- 6Charisma: Influences your character's appearance and modifies speech, barter, and non-player character (NPC (non-player character — anyone the game controls, not you)) reactions.
- 7Intelligence: Modifies dialogue options by providing more choices, increases skill points given per level, and affects 'science' skills. A minimum Intelligence of seven or eight is recommended for a richer gameplay experience.
- 8Agility: Affects speed, modifying many skills, armor class, and action points. An Agility of 10 is recommended for players focusing on sniping.
- 9Luck: Modifies critical chance, some skills, and the overall outcome of the game.
Tips
- Keep Luck, Strength, and Perception at least at 4.
- Aim for an Intelligence of seven or eight for more dialogue options and skill points.
- If you plan to be a sniper, aim for an Agility of 10.
- Characters with low Intelligence (three or less) will have very limited dialogue choices.
