Detailed walkthrough for Fallout's Necropolis: find junk parts, fix the water pump, rescue prisoners, and locate the water chip. Includes tips for combat and dialogue.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Upon entering Necropolis, you will be attacked by ghouls. They have 12, 36, or 42 hit points and are manageable with power or combat armor, or even unarmed.
  2. 2
In the hotel area, find and open a sewer hole, then descend. Kill any rats and head north. Examine ghoul corpses; one contains a Plasma Pistol, another a Cattle Prod.
  3. 3
In the north area, speak with the ghoul leader and agree to fix the water pump.
  4. 4
Proceed to the southeast area and climb the ladder.
  5. 5
Climb the stairs, exit the shack, and enter the large building guarded by a ghoul with a spear. Inside, you'll find three ghouls with shotguns and rifles. Talk to the middle one, compliment his intelligence, and offer to kill Harry and the mutants at the watershed.
  6. 6
Descend the ladder you came up.
  7. 7
Back in the sewers, go north to find the exit. Kill the rats and climb the stairs.
  8. 8
You'll be at another shack. Leave it and head north. You'll see a super mutant next to a manhole. Open it and go down.
  9. 9
Kill the rats in the sewer. In the northeast section, find the junk parts needed to fix the water pump.
  10. 10
Climb the ladder. You'll find a large building with four mutants. Save your game before entering.
  11. 11
The mutant guarding the building is Harry. If you are female, tell Harry he's intelligent and that you need a big man. He will realize you are a normal and let you go. If you are male, tell him you're a ghoul with snazzy clothes, then ask what he's doing. Assure him you aren't a normal, and then claim to be a robot. Harry will let you go. This dialogue also works for female characters.
  12. 12
Alternatively, you can kill all the mutants, which is easier with Combat Armor.
  13. 13
Use the junk parts on the water pump to receive 1500 experience.
  14. 14
Go south and speak to the ghoul prisoner. Offer to free him. He will reveal the entrance to Vault 12 to his right.
  15. 15
Open the door, descend the ladder, and go down the drainage pipe to reach Vault 12.
  16. 16
In Vault 12, kill any attacking ghouls. On the third floor, the water chip is on the only working computer. Take it and leave. You will receive 2500 XP for the water chip.
  17. 17
Optionally, kill the mutants guarding the watershed for experience, four flares, and four nuke-colas. If you tell a ghoul at the Followers' Library in the Boneyards that you killed the mutants, you'll receive a flamethrower.
  18. 18
After killing the mutants and asking Set for information, he will attempt to kill you. Combat Armor and a combat shotgun make this fight easier. You'll gain experience and a karma boost.
  19. 19
Return the water chip to Vault 13 to receive 7500 experience and two new quests: destroy the mutant laboratory and kill the Master.
