Advance Wars Mission 23: Enigma! walkthrough. Use Max to gain ground on the huge map and defeat Sturm. Learn strategy and tips.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
On Day 1, move your sub east and dive. Use your lander to drop off an infantry and anti-air on the other shore. Use the infantry to capture the north-center base and the anti-air to attack Sturm's two fighters and bomber. Move a transport copter with a mech east, then drop it off the next turn to capture properties. Move all other units southward over the first two days.
  2. 2
On Day 2, use your lander to reveal Sturm's sub and your sub to destroy it. Clear all other naval units from Sturm, including a sub and battleship to the east, plus all landers Sturm builds.
  3. 3
By Day 5, capture the port or build an APC to fuel your underwater sub, or it will explode.
  4. 4
Consider building a cruiser to take out air units over the sea, and potentially another sub to take out sea units faster.
  5. 5
Capture the eastern port. Use your sub to eliminate naval units, allowing you to transport tanks from a lander to the eastern island.
  6. 6
Concentrate most forces on the southern base in the middle. Keep 1-2 anti-aircraft units following the road east to eliminate nearby air units.
  7. 7
Build a lot of tanks, as they have decent vision and can one-hit KO most of Sturm's units due to Max's direct unit advantage.
Tips
  • This is a huge map, requiring you to gain a lot of ground.
  • You have some leeway for the technique score, but Sturm's high stats make keeping units alive difficult.
  • Consider building a cruiser to deal with air units over the sea.
  • Building an additional sub can help eliminate sea units more quickly.
