Master Mission 10M: History Lesson (Max) in Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp. Learn the best strategy for a fast S-Rank by capturing Grit's HQ with naval superiority and swift land units.
Walkthrough
- 1Day 1: Naval Dominance and Land Push
On the first day, immediately use your cruiser to destroy the enemy submarine. Move your remaining naval units, including your subs, to the northeast. Dive your subs so they can attack Grit's battleship later. Simultaneously, prepare your land units: ideally, send two mechs, an infantry, and a medium tank. Ensure at least one lander has an infantry unit destined for the HQ. - 2Securing the Path
Use your naval units to clear a path to the enemy HQ. Remember the naval matchups: battleships counter cruisers, cruisers counter subs, and subs counter battleships. Your goal is to eliminate any threats, especially the battleship northeast of the HQ, so your infantry or mech can safely capture it. - 3Dealing with Hidden Threats
Send your other units, particularly your recon, north to engage Grit's hidden forces. Keep an eye out for an artillery unit that Grit might position on a forest tile. Engaging these units early prevents them from interfering with your main assault. - 4HQ Capture
Once the naval path is clear and Grit's hidden units are dealt with, move your infantry or mech towards the HQ. With the naval threats neutralized, the capture should be smooth sailing.
Tips
- Don't waste time trying to creep up on Grit; a direct HQ capture is much faster for an S-Rank.
- Mastering the naval unit matchups (Battleship > Cruiser > Sub > Battleship) is crucial for clearing the sea lanes.
- Diving your subs is key to taking out Grit's heavier naval units like battleships.
- Keep your recon unit active to scout and engage Grit's hidden units, especially the artillery.
