In The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the Character Development screen allows you to apply Mutagens to Geralt for passive bonuses, in addition to spending Skill Points on Skill Trees.
Mutagens come in three colors: Red, Green, and Blue, each associated with a specific attribute. Equipping Mutagens provides a bonus to that attribute, with the bonus increasing based on the Mutagen's level (Lesser, Normal, or Greater).
- Red Mutagens: Increase attack power by +5% (Lesser), +7% (Normal), or +10% (Greater).
- Green Mutagens: Increase Vitality by +50 (Lesser), +100 (Normal), or +150 (Greater).
- Blue Mutagens: Increase Sign intensity by +5% (Lesser), +7% (Normal), or +10% (Greater).
There are four Mutagen slots available, with one unlocking every seven character levels. The final slot unlocks at character level 28. Inserting a Mutagen into all four slots will unlock the 'Mutant' achievement/trophy.
