Resource Management & Economy — Schedule I Guide

Starting the Game

Upon starting Schedule I, you'll experience a brief cutscene, customize your character (which is locked for the save file), and then spawn near a bus station. You'll receive the quest "Getting Started," prompting you to check your phone for messages. An "Unknown" sender will direct you to a payphone to meet "U.N." (Uncle Nelson). He instructs you to retrieve his stash near the skatepark, containing $375.

Renting a Motel Room

After collecting the cash, speak to the motel manager, Donna. The quest updates to "Rent a motel room." After the dialogue, you can pickpocket Donna to retrieve the $75 needed for the room. Enter room 1 to complete the quest. Uncle Nelson will then request another meeting at the payphone.

Buying Equipment

The "Gearing Up" questline begins, directing you to the hardware store. On your keyboard, press "M" to view the map and locate the yellow star for the quest objective. At the hardware store, you'll be tasked with depositing cash at the ATM and purchasing a grow tent, soil bag, and watering can. It's recommended to use the "MAX" button at the ATM for safety. Speak to Dan to purchase items; use "Add to Cart" or the arrow to select quantities. Items that don't fit your inventory will be placed outside. Holding Shift while grabbing items from storage allows you to take the entire stack. You can also right-click and scroll to adjust amounts. It's also advised to buy "Plant Trimmers," "Packaging Station," and 10 "Baggies" for the next quest. Optionally, buy a trash grabber for recycling trash and a "Trash bag" to clear the trash can in the motel. If you tell Dan you are a drug dealer, he may give you "Speed Grow." Return to your motel room, place the grow tent, and fill it with soil. Afterward, speak to Uncle Nelson again.

Planting your First Seeds

Uncle Nelson introduces Albert Hoover. Check your phone for a message from Albert regarding seed orders. To order, press the send message button and select "I need to order a [dead drop]." You can currently only purchase "OG Kush." After placing an order, Albert will deliver the seeds to a highlighted [dead drop] location within 30 in-game minutes (30 seconds) for the first order, and approximately 4 in-game hours (4 minutes) for subsequent orders. Your debt is placed on a tab, payable by cash in the [dead drop] behind the hardware store. After retrieving the seed, sow it in the grow tent by holding the seed and pressing "E" when prompted. Then, water the plant by filling your watering can at the sink and using it on the grow tent.
