Character Creation & Spawn: After a brief intro cutscene, customize your character. You will spawn in front of the bus station near the motel.

"Getting Started" Quest: Open your phone ('Tab'), read messages from "Unknown". Go to the payphone to meet "U.N." (Uncle Nelson).

Fetch Stash: Uncle Nelson directs you to retrieve his stash near the skatepark, located on a ledge by the road leading to the motel. You will find $375.

Rent Motel Room: Speak to the motel manager, Donna, next to the motel. The quest updates to "Rent a motel room". You can pickpocket Donna to steal back the $75 needed for the room.

Check Motel Room: Go to room 1 and step inside to complete the quest objective.

Return to Payphone: Uncle Nelson wants to speak with you again at the payphone.

"Gearing Up" Questline:

Visit Hardware Store: Find the hardware store (marked by a yellow star on the map, or by walking forward from your room until the road ends, then turning left).

Deposit Cash: Use the ATM to deposit all your money for safety.

Purchase Equipment: Speak to Dan at the hardware store. Purchase a grow tent, soil bag, and watering can. It's also recommended to buy "Plant Trimmers", "Packaging Station", and 10 "Baggies". Optionally, buy a trash grabber and a "Trash bag" to manage motel trash.

Speed Grow: If you tell Dan you are a drug dealer, he may gift you "Speed Grow", which speeds up plant growth.

Set Up Grow Tent: Return to your motel room, place the grow tent, and fill the pot with soil using the watering can.

Return to Payphone: Talk to Uncle Nelson again.

Planting First Seeds:

Meet Albert Hoover: Uncle Nelson introduces you to Albert Hoover. Check your phone for a message from Albert.

Order Seeds: Use the message interface to order seeds. Select "I need to order a [dead drop]". Purchase "OG Kush" (recommended for ease and cost-effectiveness).

Seed Delivery: Albert will deliver the seed to a [dead drop] (a small metal drawer with a cross) within 30 in-game minutes (30 seconds). Subsequent deliveries take approx. 4 in-game hours (4 minutes). Your debt is placed on a tab, payable at the [dead drop] behind the hardware store.

Sow Seed: Pick up the seed and sow it in the grow tent by pressing "E" when prompted.

Water Plant: Fill your watering can at the sink and water the plant in the grow tent.

Plant Growth: Plants grow approx. 15% per in-game hour. Sleeping after watering can help plants grow faster and conserve water.

Harvesting & Packaging:

Harvest: Once the plant is fully grown, use the "Plant Trimmers" on the grow tent to harvest the buds.

Packaging: Place the "Packaging Station" and use it to package the buds into baggies. Drag baggies to "Packaging", buds to "Input", press "Pack", then drag buds into baggies, and baggies into the hopper. Packaged weed will be in the output.

Tips

You can steal back the $75 for the motel room from Donna after renting it.
Depositing cash at the ATM prevents loss from fines or medical bills.
Holding Shift while grabbing items from storage allows you to take the entire stack.
Right-clicking an item and scrolling allows you to select a custom amount to grab.
